Town and Country has had the pleasure to work on some of the country’s most beautiful country houses, from fifteenth century farmhouses and Georgian manor houses; to Victorian hunting lodges and more recent new builds. The sensitive nature of these projects, not only with regard to the surrounding landscape, but to the buildings themselves means we have developed the experience to design to most challenging of architectural environments and take this knowledge to apply the latest solutions to new builds and contemporary extensions. Often, the highest compliment someone can pay is to say that the conservatory or orangery looks like an original part of the house - as though it has always been there.
We hope that the following examples will give you an idea of how Town and Country look to build sensitively, both to enhance the existing property and the surrounding environment. In this way, the success rate for planning consent is significantly improved - particularly for listed properties and those in conservation areas. Please see above a selection of the many beautiful country homes we have been fortunate to work on.
