Unity of Style and Purpose

Properties in this area of Belgravia have a small coach house at the rear, many of which have been sold as separate mews houses. In this case however, the two parts of the property have been linked with glass to create a magnificent, unified whole. As is typical of so many of our projects, the success of this installation is due to our close working relationship with our customer, the architect, the builder and interior designer, in a single, if complex operation.

The primary glass structure rises from the ground level to an arch above the first floor sitting room. This matches faithfully the Oriel windows of the nearby artist studios and by using metal casements within the wooden frame, retains a fine elegance without losing physical strength. The link building and the breakfast area on the opposite side of the small courtyard add glorious living space, bathed in natural light all year.
