As an addition to an early Georgian Grade I listed house, this elegant and deceptively large conservatory and raised terrace were built to enjoy summer dining, both inside and out. Appropriate to its surroundings, it features an antique marble table and fountain as permanent fixtures. To ensure enjoyment all year round, the room is heated by convectors in trenches with cast metal grilles set within limestone flooring. And like a traditional orangery, the citrus trees spend the winter in lead planters inside while soaking up the sun in the summer outside on the terrace.
The conservatory was designed to work in conjunction with, and complement, the newly landscaped grounds to the north of the house. These wonderful horticultural improvements include the formally arranged rose gardens and croquet lawn.
